Winter is going to come around before you know it and it is already getting darker in the evenings. With energy bills going up more and more by the year, it is understandable that you don’t want to have all the lights turned on in your house from 4pm, and that is why we have found this great solution for you.
In fact, you might have experimented by using candles before but these are dangerous when you have children. On top of this, you run the risk of falling asleep while they are still burning and this is another worry that you need to think about. If you want to eliminate all of this risk, then we have the solution for you! A mother came up with this fun idea and she started this project because she wanted to add some light to her kid’s room. You can find all of the supplies for this at your local store and it can all be done for less than $10!
If you want to do this for yourself then all you’ll need to start is a couple of glow sticks. This mother used some mason jars and a couple of Coca Cola bottles as well. She cleaned them all out and then she got some scissors so she could complete the next step.
She snapped the glow stick and she snipped the end so that the chemicals would flow. After she did this, she dripped the chemicals into jar. Take a look at the picture, she got it on the sides of the jar as opposed to the bottom, so this is something that you should take note of. Of course, the bigger jar you have, the more glow sticks you’ll probably need.
Once you’ve completed the above step, the jars should be glowing already! Put some flowers inside and they make great decorations, plus it will help you to save on your energy bills!
