You may think that Facebook and Skype are great for talking to your friends and family when you’re out and about, but you haven’t seen anything yet. The inFORM surface is unlike anything that you have ever seen before, and this video just proves it all. The surface can change shape in a 3D form, so you can interact with the camera while also holding hands with someone who is thousands of miles away. The technology isn’t that hard to understand, after all, it is basically a Pinscreen. With this technology however, instead of the pins being manually moved, they are controlled by motors which are then connected to a laptop.
This allows it to register real life objects as well as physically rendering whatever is placed near it.
